40 seats for the Freedom and Justice Party 14 seats for El Nour party and a big defeat for the members of the disbanded National Democratic Party

The run-off of the second phase of Egypt's parliamentary elections witnessed a victory of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), the political arm of the Muslim Brotherhood, over the Salafis. The Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) announced that it has won 40 seats out of the 49 seats the party was running for in the run-off while the Salafi 'El Nour' party won 14 out of 35 seats the party was running for.

El Masry El youm newspaper quoted the Freedom and Justice saying "The electoral committees announced that 40 candidates of the party have won. The declaration of  winning of four candidates who got the highest results was obstructed until the complaint against the ruling of the administrative court which stops the elections in those two districts, have been studied. These candidates are Amir Bassam, Mohamed Abd el Raouf in the second district in Al-Sharqiya and Ahmed Suliman, El Sayed Mohamed Abd El Kareem El Atwil in the fifth district in Al-Sharqiya. While nine out of 49 party candidates who ran in this run-off lost. Meanwhile the results for the candidates in the fifth district in Bihiera as well as party list results in the first district in Al-Monofiya, the second district in Sohag and Bihiera have not been announced yet".

According to the newspaper nine candidates failed to win in the run-off, the most prominent among them is Dr. Amr Darag who was running against Dr. Amr El Shobky the independent candidate who is backed by the Justice Party on the 'brackets' seat in Dokkia and Imbaba.

The Freedom and Justice party (FJP) won over 'El Nour' party in 25 seats that the two parties competed over. The Freedom and Justice party won 20 seats while 'El Nour' won five seats. The most severe competition between the two was in Bihiera governorate where the two parties competed over 10 seats from which the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) won seven while 'El Nour' won three seats. In Beni Suef the two parties competed over four seats among which the Freedom and Justice party (FJP) won three seats and 'El Nour' won only one. The Freedom and Justice party was more successful than 'El Nour' party in Giza, Al-Sharqiya, Al-Monofiya and Suez and won all 10 seats that the two parties were competing over. On the other hand 'El Nour' won one seat in Aswan which the two parties where contesting.

 

Dr. Waheed Abd El Mageed, the general coordinator for the 'Democratic Coalition' which is championed by the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) said that "The coalition and the Freedom and Justice party won 157 seats till now in the first and second phase with a percentage of 53.1% of the seats except the districts that will witness re-elections on the party lists and they are Sahel and Aswan districts as well as three other party list districts which their results have not been announced yet". Abd El Mageed predicted that this percentage will decrease to 52% after the announcement of the rest of the results. "We predict that the coalition will get the same percentage in the third phase" added Abd El Mageed.

Dr. Yousry Hammad, the official spokesman of 'El Nour' Salafi party said that "The party won 14 seats in the run-off, the total number of seats won in the first and second phase is 89 seats (individual and party list) with an approximate percentage of 30% of the seats of the two phases". He clarified that the party would have probably won more if not for the distorting media campaign that targeted them.

Dr. Mahmoud Radwan, a leader in 'El Nour' Salafi party said "Some judges failed to perform some mathematical calculations which led to grave mistakes that influenced 'El Nour' party, so we are calling for a mathematical teacher in every electoral committee to be present to perform mathematical operations under the supervision of the committee's judge".

In Al-Sharqiya Six Candidates for Freedom and Justice Party won and they are El Sayed Negeda (brackets), Saleh Aly (worker) in the first district, Mohamed Fayad (brackets), Ibrahim Selim (worker) in the third district, Mohamed Safwat Swailam (brackets) and Mohamed Awad Shaweish (worker) in the fourth district.

While Dr. Aly El Meslhy. The former Minister for Solidarity lost the brackets seat in the third district with a difference of around 23,000 votes to his competitor Mohamed Fayad the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) candidate.

In the second district the committee head announced the winning of Amir Bassam (brackets) and Mohamed Abd El Raouf (worker) Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) candidates suspended until the ruling of the administrative court.

In the fifth district the results were banished due to an administrative court ruling in Zagazig stating that the elections in this district is annulled due to the finding of voting ballots thrown in the street and the name of a deceased candidate on the lists who got 4,000 votes.

In Ismailia Dr. Hesham El Soly (Freedom and Justice Party) won the brackets seat while Mohamed Hawary (El Nour) won the worker seat.

In Suez Hany Nour El Din (El Nour) won the worker seat while Abbas Abd El Aziz (Freedom and Justice) won the brackets seat.

 In Beni Sueif Gaber Mansour (Freedom and Justice Party) won the brackets seat while Negm El Din Aziz (El Nour) won the worker seat in the first district. And Mohamed Shaker El Deeb (Freedom and Justice) won the brackets seat while Abd El Hakim Masoud (El Nour) won the worker seat in the second district. Abd El Kader Abd El Wahab (worker) and Dr. Nehad El Kassem(brackets), both Freedom and Justice Party, won in the third district.

In Sohag Waleed Abd El Awal 'El Nour' candidate won the brackets seat in the first district and Mostafa El Galous (Freedom and Justice Party) won the worker seat. In the second district Sheikh Mohamed Abd El Rahman the Freedom and Justice Party candidate won the brackets seat and Sheik Adlan Mahmoud (El Nour), known as Adlan El Juhainy, won the worker seat. And in the third district Mohamed Mosaad (Freedom and Justice) won the brackets seat while Sheik Lahzy Ahmed Nagdy (El Nour) won the worker seat. In the fourth district Gaber El Gahlan (El Nour) won the brackets seat and Faysal El Shebany (independent) won the worker seat.

In the fifth district Raaft Abu El Kheir (indeoendent) won the brackets seat while Youssef Abou Hamody (independent) won the worker seat.

In Al-Monofiya the final results showed that all the Freedom and Justice Party candidates have won in the run-off and they are Helmy Bakr (brackets), Said Hussein (worker) in the first district and Said el Azab (worker) in the second district. Mahmoud Abou El Magd (worker) and Dr. Naser Tahoun (brackets) have won in the third district. Ibrahim Hagag (brackets) in the fourth district while Anwar El Belkemy, El Nour candidate, won the worker seat in the same district. In Bihiera Osama Sulaiman (Freedom and Justice Party) won the brackets seat and Tarek Saleh (Freedom and Justice Party) won the worker seat in the first district. In the second district Mahmoud Heba, El Nour party candidate, won the brackets seat while Yasser Abd El Rafe', Freedom and Justice Party candidate, won the worker seat. In the third district Ahmed Zoheir (Freedom and Justice Party) won the brackets seat and Masry Keshik won the worker seat. In the fourth district Abdallah Saad won the brackets seat and Hamed Tahan won the worker seat, both El Nour Party candidates. In the fifth district Freedom and Justice party candidates won, they are Saad Abou Talib (brackets) and Ahmed Khater (worker).
